The Certified Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting physicians with patient care, performing appropriate procedures, and preparing rooms and equipment. The MA is also responsible for maintaining records and interacting in a professional, friendly manner with patients and family members, physicians, staff, and visitors. The MA serves as a lead for process improvement teams. The MA may be required to fill some Center Service Representative responsibilities and may be cross-trained to cover other positions when needed. Work requires collaborative communication with others as it pertains to the patient's continuum of care and clinical operations. Courtesy, respect, friendliness, and tact are required in dealing with customers.
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent education and/or experience
Certificate of completion from an accredited medical assistant program or a higher level of medical education (i.e., accredited LPN program, RN program.)
Required Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Current Medical Assistant Certification
We accept MA Certifications from RMA administered by American Medical Technologies (AMT0, CMA administered by American Association of Medication Assistants (AAMA), CMA administered by National Healthcare Association (NHA), and NCMS administered by National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
Required Experience:
Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
Supervision received from:
Direct supervision from the Clinical Manager or RN. Indirect supervision from Providers, nurses, and other positions of leadership as directed by the Clinical Manager.
